Notes From Nowhere

Trying to make large prints from a photo taken with an iPhone reminds me of the challenges in early digital photography, when the files from an $8,000 camera were just about as fragile. Alas, I figured out how to do it. Along the way, I went back to a few of my older files and gave them the same treatment. These two from a trip to Coney Island shortly after I arrived in NYC.

Speaking of subway systems, the Washington Metro is one of my favorite designs. Whether this is reason enough to spend the holidays in the capital is another question.

Happy belated New Year…

I still prefer the subway in Berlin over any line here in NYC. The scene above, that was at Amrumerstrasse station – loved the tiles and skirt. And yet, I don’t know if I ever was a Berliner. I’m a Manhattanite for now. Given a choice, I might prefer a mountain hut in the Dolomites to all this.
