This image from Berkeley. San Francisco may be my favorite new town, simply for the fact that the airport feels a little like the one in Salzburg – when I left for L.A. sometime Saturday afternoon, there was *not a single other airplane taxying to the runway*. I just arrived in California, where it never rains, except of course while I’m here. But I love it! While the photo above is still from January’s Dolomite edit, San Francisco to me feels more like a place near the Italian Alps – like Viareggio for example, which also has an exquisite blend of nice cafés, mountains, and of course the sea. And, of the American cities I know, San Francisco is the only one where I feel I can get great food anywhere.

For now, on with the Dolomites edit.

I worked quite hard for this one, both when I took it and in post. So that’s an indication that, in the end, it may not hold its own: In my experience, the strongest images are always the easiest – you know they’ll work even before you take them. Well, I hope this one is going to be an exception, and I’ll know in a couple of weeks.
