This from earlier this week, at 7500 feet in the Dolomites, in a snowstorm, at minus 20 degrees Celsius. Other than this relatively clear image suggests, visibility was extremely poor, and the storm covered my own footprints with snow within less than ten minutes. So what I did to get back safely was to photograph some reference points when I walked up (rock formations etc.), and looked at those images on the back of my camera when I walked back down. Worked like a charm.
